OUR SUSTAINABILITY JOURNEY

Fashion is one of the ways that human beings use to express themselves. Behind the red carpets, the fashion shows and the sales, there is a massive industry employing over 1.5 million people just in Europe. But the other side of the coin tells a different story, less shining and much more alarming.

The textile and clothing industry is one of the most polluting sectors, together with housing, transport, and food. This is caused by the strong impact it has on land use, water pollution and even greenhouse emissions. This sector has a high environmental and social impact in every phase: from production, to distribution, use, and after use (collection, sorting, recycling, and final waste management, which is most of the time related to incineration and landfills)

A journey  through our Collections from the beginning to present time. A spotlight on our Sustainability projects.

We strive to challenge ourselves more to be as ethnical and sustainable as possible. This is  our JOURNEY TO DATE

ZERO WASTE FUTURE PROJECT 2022

GSD Marketing, the CocaCola foundation and AKTI (NGO from Cyprus) Reached out to us to make a dress  for the host of their award ceremony, Clare Aguis, that took place at BIRGU local council on the 11th of November 2022. The material used to make the dress and bag below, is made  from off cuts and scraps, from our past collections and projects. Patched up together to manufacture an original new fabric that’s unique and impossible to replicate. This makes each individual garment a 1 off piece.

We were also awarded at this ceremony for our effort to be a sustainable local fashion brand.

FALL WINTER 2020-RECYCLE REMAKE REBORN

2020 we were faced with limited  resources, due to the pandemic. This gave us more drive to push ourselves to continue developing our ways in created sustainable products. We  had lots of denim left over, to be honest we were compiling denim from friends and family also. In this collection we re used past techniques of patch working, however this time round we created full fabric which we needed to make full garments from. Coats, jackets, trousers and skirts where created, we also reused the remainder of the scraps to create face masks which at the time, where also a necessity.

TRANSEASONAL 2018-S.T.A.R

In our 2018 collection, Our detail was distressed and frayed patchwork denim. We created and ombre effect using different shaded of denim, sources from off cuts from our previous work.

TRANSEASONAL 2017-VANITY REBELS

For our 2017 collection we developed more  products using repurposed denim. The featured denim jackets where sourced from  charity shops and deconstructed, painted and embroidered. The jeans trousers and skirts where also sourced from charity shops and like the denim jackets they where deconstructed and hand painted. In this collection we also created hand painted denim badges which where applied as decoration on dresses, hoodies and t-shirts. All the denim used was repurposed.
